Ton Felices (Barcelona, 2002) is an award-winning double bass player based in Amsterdam.

Ton is one of the most promising bass players of his generation. His music is eclectic and escapes categories: it defies all boundaries and has many different influences from classical composition, modern jazz and songwriting to electronic music and free improvisation.
Ton’s interest and subsequent exploration on various themes in music is reflected in his compositions: he reimagines and recontextualizes sounds from classical composers, explores the merging point of acoustic and electronic means of sonic expression and the contrast between systematic and intuitive ways of making music, heavily influenced by jazz legends such as Wayne Shorter or John Coltrane and very connected to contemporary greats like Genevieve Artadi or Kurt Rosenwinkel. His inspirations include artists and writers like Miró, Lorca and Gaudí.
Ton is a fixture in Amsterdam's creative music scene and already collaborated with world class artists like David Binney, Miguel Zenón, Jorge Rossy, Ben van Gelder, Philip Dizack, Cécile McLorin and Gilad Hekselman. He performs extensively in The Netherlands as well as internationally and is the winner of Prinses Christina Concours 2021, Juventudes Musicales de España 2022 and Keep an Eye International Jazz Award (best Amsterdam soloist 2024, First Prize 2025). Ton performed in stages and festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Concertgebouw, BIMHUIS, Palau de la Música, Amsterdam Jazz Fest, Konserthuset Stockholm or Bird’s Eye Jazz Club.

While deeply rooted in jazz, Ton writes songs -melodic jingles- that stay with the audience after listening and leave them wondering what the music they just heard was and hungry for more. His songs present catchy lines with a twist or two and are delivered with great care for sound quality and deep emotionality. He is a fiery bassist and improviser, but more importantly he learned to use his virtuosity in favor of the music, escaping pretentiousness and always in the search for new melodies. Ultimately, Ton is a very social player: communication and interaction are core values of his music. That interplay creates a feeling of togetherness in the band that brings the music alive and reflects his young spirit and hopes for a way of life that can bring everyone closer, listening to each other and making something beautiful as a result of it, especially in today’s hectic times.
The young double bassist also performs solo in a series of intimate dialogues with his instrument. Solo but not alone, he and his bass create delicate soundscapes and open doors for the imagination, inviting reflection on the nuances of sound, shapes and colors. Vivid music: his powerful lyricism and virtuosic command of the instrument ensure the listener to enjoy the ride up close.
